Lush haul

Recently it was my birthday and as my friends know me so well I got of lush products so I thought I’d share them with you and give a first impressions type of post!

Firstly I got the the comforter shower cream a scent that I adore! It also followed the pink theme as my friend knew I love the colour pink so wanted every product to include pink which was so sweet!

‘This berrylicious, reassuring shower cream brings to mind warm, familiar memories. The blend of sweet cassis absolute, uplifting bergamot and assuring cypress essential oils create a blackcurranty aroma that’s like being wrapped in a snug hug.’

My love of this scent lead my friend onto purchasing me the comforter bubble bar. I’ve used this many times and I love it, the smell is gorgeous and it produces so many bubbles!

‘Sometimes you just need to shut yourself off from the outside world under a blanket of fruity foam that will put you back in the right frame of mind to face the world. This bar is supersized, so you’ll only need to crumble half a bar under your tap to make enough bubbles for a long, comforting soak. Cassis absolute gives a distinctive blackcurrant fragrance, while bergamot adds an uplifting note.’

The next lush product I got was a bath bomb intergalactic. I don’t think I’ve ever tried this bath bomb before so I’m very excited to use it! I think it’ll turn the water the most lovely blue colour.

‘Ever wondered what bathing in deep space would be like? Invite the cosmos into your bathroom with this sexy, interstellar bomb and become the guardian of your own galaxy. An awesome mix of refreshing peppermint and neon colour sends your mood rocketing, while popping candy takes you on a trip around the Milky Way. Constellations swirl and pop, creating vibrant lustre vortexes in the night sky. Before you leap too far, rogue layers of vetivert and cedarwood take hold, evoking the warmth of human contact far from home and a hint of 80s aftershave. Return from your intergalactic brief encounter as the grounding scent brings you gently back from orbit.’

Then next product I got was another bath bomb this time it was twilight. Another one I haven’t tried before but I love the scent.

‘If sleep is evading you, this combination of essential oils will help get you ready for a good night’s rest. As Twilight dissolves, it turns from the colour of the setting sun and gets darker, turning your water a shimmering deep purple. The fragrance has been designed to help you sleep: lavender is a soothing, mind-clearing and calming fragrance, used in aromatherapy to treat insomnia and aid restful sleep, while benzoin and tonka call to mind a milky caramel malt drink.’

The final product I got was a soap it’s called rock star. I’ve never used a lush bar soap before but I’m excited to do so!

‘Get into the gorgeous groove with this creamy, sweet-smelling soap. Rock Star takes you on an away day with its nostalgic smell of seaside rock wrapped up in a pink block – perfect for easing sugar cravings. Containing Fair Trade vanilla absolute, this will leave you feeling sweet and comforted’

I hope you all enjoyed this post. I’m extremely grateful to friends who bought me such wonderful gifts and made my day the most special day I could have ever wanted!

The BEST mascara

Hi everyone! I’m sorry for being a super bad blogger and not posting again for ages, I’ve been busy trying to sort my UCAS form out! Anyways on a less serious not, I may have found the best mascara, and in super happy about it! During the October half term I went on a little shopping spree, and bought many things one of which being the the Benefit Roller Lash. I’m sure many people have go on about this but it really is an amazing mascara. It gives length more than volume in my opinion and is perfect for a everyday make up look. It’s the only mascara that I’ve found to not drop under my eyes and make me look like a panda! For that reason alone it’s incredible! It’s not cheap, but mascaras aren’t cheap even from the drugstore and I don’t mind paying extra for such an amazing product. What’s your favourite mascara?

The Blogger Recognition Award

Hi everyone! Today I’m bringing you a slightly different post, the lovely littlemissdreamer96 and simplyme to complete this post! Thank you so much to the both of you, I really appreciate it! Everyone should go and check out their blogs as they’re both in my favourites!

Blogger Recognition Award Rules

  1. Write a post explaining why you started blogging along with a few tips.
  2. Nominate some of your fellow bloggers.
  3. Comment on their blogs to let them know you’ve nominated them.

I started blogging back in April 2015 but then stopped as I had exams. However I started blogging again when I was on holiday in August as I had some photos I wanted to post and had some really good post ideas (well I thought so anyway!) I since then have continued to love blogging and now never want to give it up! If you want to read more about why I started blogging I have a more in depth post here.

Tips

  1. Blog often and possibly make a schedual – it’s important to not vanish completely from your blog as people will think you’ve stopped!
  2. If you can pre write posts and schedual them – I find this the most useful thing. This is the reason I am able to blog 4 times a week ! I don’t know what I’d do without it!
  3. Write about what your passionate about – your post will appear boring and people won’t want to read them. So blog about things you love and it will come across in your writing.

My current obsession

Hi everyone! I’m so sorry for being absent from blogging, I’ve been super busy with college! I currently have also been obsessed with Pretty Little Liars (I’m on season 3 so don’t tell me who A is!) I am absolutely addicted! I think I’m going to cry when I catch up! I never really understood what the big deal was about it but now I’m hooked. If you haven’t watched it I’d highly recommend it!

What TV programs do you love?

Real techniques core collection review

Hi everyone! I’m not sure how I’ve been blogging this long and I’ve not blogged about my favourite make up brushes – the real techniques range!

About a year ago I purchased the core collection by real techniques and ever since I’ve been obsessed! I love the buffing brush for applying my foundation or powdering my face, the pointed foundation brush I use for applying concealer, the detailed brush I use for applying dark eyeshadow in place of eyeliner for a more natural look and finally I use the contour brush for its purpose, contouring! I think these brushes can be used for so many different uses which makes them so useful! They are great quality and so soft on your skin! I couldn’t be without them now and they are such amazing value considering how expensive they can be. These brushes have a RRP of £20.99 however you can pick them up on Amazon for under £15. I will be extending my collection very shortly! I’d very highly recommend these brushes!

Let me know which your favourite make up brushes are? Do you own any of the real techniques range? If you do let me know which other ones I should invest in!

Declutter your life

Hi everyone! Recently I’ve completely decluttered my life and I LOVE it! I’ve cleared out 6 bags of clothes that I haven’t worn in the past year and a further 2 bags of make up and general things I no longer need. I just thought I’d share how I did this as I’m now living a more minimal life and its so much better!

To begin I took ALL the clothes out of my wardrobe and placed them on my bed and sorted them into keep, charity and bin piles. This took me ages but once I’d finally decided what I no longer needed and that I could give to charity so maybe someone else would love it like I once did. I really try to charity as I know I’m privileged to have what I do and therefore its important to me to try and give to charity when I can. I also had to bin some clothes as I knew they wouldn’t be sold due to being in bad condition. Once this was done I hung all my clothes in the keep pile up and my wardrobe was transformed! I could actually see everything and it was pretty empty!

Next I went onto my bedside tables and bookshelf and cleared them out of any DVDs and books I’d watched/read and no longer needed. I cleared everything I didn’t need any more and I hadn’t used in the past 6 months/year as they wouldn’t be needed again.

I then went through my make up and skincare and gave everything that I didn’t like or that didn’t suit me to my friends. This has left me with my essentials and more but it is a much more manageable amount of make up as its not possible to wear it all everyday! Imagine that, wearing 4 foundations everyday!

I’d highly recommend decluttering your life as I think everything is much more clear now. Its so much easier getting ready in the morning with everything organised!

Let me know if you declutter your life!

Five High End Beauty Products Worth Buying

Hi everyone! Just a quick post today, I thought I’d write about 5 products I think it is worth spending the extra money on. Lets get started:

  • Foundation – I feel this is a very important part of your make up therefore more money can be spent to ensure you get a good foundation suited for your skin. The base of your make up in my opinion is the most important as it is what everything else sits on. There are 2 high end foundations I’d recommend firstly the Clinique anti-blemish liquid foundation; this stays on my face all day and doesn’t break me out which is a massive positive! I’m not sure how much it does towards stopping blemishes but anything that aims to stop them is better than nothing! The second foundation is the Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation – I did fall out of love with this as I started getting dry patches on my skin and I felt this clung to them and looked awful but now my skin is in a better condition, I love it again! I love a high coverage foundation and the huge colour range means the shade I use (NW13) is pale enough for me, hurray!
  • Eyeshadow – I love eyeshadow, I feel its the part of your make up that you can really be creative with (not that I am!) but I think with high end eyeshadows are better pigmented, even though I know you can now get some great drugstore eyeshadows. I’d recommend the Naked 2 palette – I use it everyday!
  • Now onto skincare, first off moisturiser; I feel it is essential to look after your skin, I’ve only recently in the past year realised how important skincare is and how your skincare reflects how your skin looks. Everyone needs moisturiser no matter what skin type you have. For dry skin I’d recommend the Clinique Moisture surge and for blemish prone skin I’d highly recommend the Clinique anti-blemish moisturiser. Unfortunately I don’t have a recommendation for normal skin but I’d recommend the Clinique range.
  • Cleanser – you need a good cleanser to clean your face and remove your make up from the day. It is a MUST to remove your make up before you go to bed and I know how it feels when your so tired you just want to sleep! But trust me you’d regret it the next day. I’ve made a post on how I remove my make up so I’ll link it here as it has 3 products I use on a regular basis to remove my make up.
  • Toner – Before I started the Clinique 3 step, I had no idea what toner was and certainly didn’t use it. Toner gives your skin a range of ingredients that restore and repair the skin after cleaning. I use the Clinique anti-blemish toner but I’ve seen there are many other toners about that I feel are essential to restoring your skin and keeping it looking its best!

There we go, my 5 high end product worth buying. I hope you enjoyed this post as I loved writing it. Let me know what your top 5 end products are! I love finding new products!

Bio oil//review

Hi everyone! Just a quick post today as college is very hectic at the moment but I’m trying to schedual as many post as possible to help me stay active!

I’ve been using bio oil for about 2-3 months now and I’m really glad I invested in it! It’s making slow progress on my acne scars but I’m extremely happy that there’s any progress in all honesty, as I had doubts! I think it also has had a positive effect on current acne as well – doesn’t break me out at all! It makes your face feel very oily when applying but it soon absorbs into your skin. I use bio oil before I put on my moisturiser on every night – not twice a day as it suggests mainly as I don’t like how it can make me skin feel before it absorbs in and I don’t have time for that in the morning!!! Overall I’d recommend bio oil – slow progress but worth while!

Have any of you used bio oil? How did you get on if you did?
