Girl Online -Zoe Sugg//Book review

Hi everyone! I’m brining you another book review today, again by another YouTuber. After really enjoying Louise and Marcus’ books I decided to buy Zoe’s.

Overall I really enjoyed Girl online and it was really nice that you could see how Zoe had reflected herself in the character Penny. I think the book was a bit predictable however I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it was great that Zoe covered mental health in the book and learning to deal with it in a positive manor. As such an influential person I was really glad to see that she incorporated anxiety and panic attacks to show people that they’re not alone and help reduce stigma towards mental illnesses. I am really looking forward to Girl online on tour as I’m very interested to see where she will take the storyline and I will defiantly be preordering it!

Have any of you read Girl online? If so what did you think of it?

My everyday makeup

Hi everyone! Hope you’ll all well, today I’m going to be sharing my everyday make up. Here are all the products I use:

  1. First off I start with a primer – I use the Baby Skin primer by Maybelline. I think this is a great primer and a good dupe for Benefits porefessional.
  2. Then I go on with my foundation – Clinique Anti-blemish liquid foundation (I have previously reviewed this so this link will be here)
  3. Once I have my foundation on I do my eyeshadow using the Naked 2 pallete (also reviewed here)
  4. I then proceed to use the Naked 2 pallete in the shade ‘Tease’ to fill in my eyebrows
  5. Once I’ve filled in my eyebrows I use the Maybelline Browdrama to set my brows in place
  6. I then curl my eyelashes and use Maybelline the rocket volume express mascara
  7. Then it’s onto concealer – I use the Collection concealer and Mac Pro longwear  concealer hand in hand to cover under eye circles and blemishes (both reviewed here)
  8. Once this is complete I set my face using the Rimmel stay matte powder (which as you can see from the photo is very loved) at this stage I also would contour however I don’t usually contour on a everyday basis but if I was I’d use the Sleek contour pallete
  9. Finally I pop on some lipstick – I chose the Loreal colour riche lipstick in Striking Amythest (for my other go to lipsticks go here)

And that’s it! I’m ready for the day. I hope you found this is someway helpful!

What are your everyday products? Do you use any of these? Let me know in the comments below, I really do appreciate it.

Hello Life – Marcus Butler//Book review

Hello everyone or should I say heeeellloooo (me trying to do a Marcus impression and failing miserably) anyways I have another book review for you of Hello life – Marcus Butler.

I LOVED this book so much! Marcus covered some really interesting topics and I loved his healthy eating topic and about his body transformation. He really has inspired me to eat healthy and not to worry about calories but look at the nutrition. What nutrition am I giving my body by eating this? If the answer is none, then don’t eat it! He gives great tips about foods to eat and their benefits making it really easy to know how to go about a healthy lifestyle.

As well as healthy eating he also goes into 3 different topics; the dating game, friends and family survival guide and how to get the life you want. Every section I enjoyed however I found the healthy eating section most helpful. He includes little stories about his life and shares his experiences with the readers. I think this book is great to keep on your bookshelf and to look back on as and when you want to. I really think Marcus has done a great job of this book and I think it makes a great read to a wide audience – from teens to adults.

Have you read Hello life? What are your favourite books at the moment? Let me know in the comments below, I really appreciate it!

Lipstick

Hi everyone! I hope you’re well and prepared for another week ahead of us. I though it share my go to lipsticks throughout summer.

I have 3 different brands of lipstick so let’s get started.

The first brand in going to talk about is Mac, I actually only have the one Mac lipstick however it is very loved! The shade I have is Hot Gossip and it is a cremesheen lipstick. Mac lipsticks are excellent quality, with high pigmentation, long lasting and the packaging is gorgeous! I would highly recommend Mac lipsticks despite them being a bit pricey at £15.50 but I definitely think you get what you pay for.

The next lipsticks I’m going to talk about are the Maybelline coloursensational lipsticks. I bought 3 shades a few months ago when they were on 3 for 2. I love all 3 shades and I find the lipsticks moisturising and long wearing. I’d highly recommend these as a more affordable drugstore lipstick at £6.99 (currently at Boots 2 for £10) The shades on the picture below from left to right are 150 Stellar Pink, 245 Magic Mauve, 832 Kiss Pearl.

My final lipstick in going to mention is the Loreal colour riche I love this lipstick mainly due to the shade (spiking Amythest), it’s the prettiest sparkling purple shade! I adore it. It looks really high quality in the packaging and I can say that the product is also high quality, and very affordable at only £6.99. It is long lasting and I get endless amounts of comments on the colour! I couldn’t not share this with you all, I think it’s a gem!

I hope this has been of some help. What are your favourite lipsticks? I’m looking to expand my lipstick collection so it would be really helpful to have some recommendations.

How I remove my makeup

Hi everyone! Let’s just get started, here’s the scene, it’s been a long day at work/college/school – like one of those days where 10 minutes literally seems like a year. So when you get home all you want to do is get all your make up off which has probably shifted South especially on a hot day.

So I thought I’d share my top 3 products for quick and simple make up remover:

1. Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

This is one of my favourite cleansers, it doesn’t dry my skin out in any way and removes all your make up in one go. This truly is an amazing product – until I started using this I didn’t realise make up removing could be such a simple task. I used to sit with some make up wipes (some are better than others – look at number 3) for ages trying to remove my stubborn mascara. Overall I’d say this is my favourite cleanser despite being slightly more pricey (£15.50 for 100ml starter kit) than drug store products.

2. Garnier Micellar water

This is a super quick, easy and affordable way to remover your make up. It claims it is ‘A super efficient and gentle way to cleanse, remove makeup, soothe the feel of skin and hydrate in just one step – it’s not magic, it’s Garnier Micellar!’ I couldn’t have said it better myself, I totally agree it does all these things! It really is a fantastic drugstore product and at such a affordable price £4.99 for 400ml (but usually you can find it on offer, currently it’s on offer for £3.33 from Boots)

3. Simple make up wipes

If I’m super tired and it’s late all I want to do is go to bed but you just want something very easy-make up wipes. I’ve found the simple ones to be the best at removing make up and wouldn’t use any others now. They take off the majority of my make up and are ideal if I’m on the go or for camping etc. They are the cheapest of the 3 options at £3.25 for 25 wipes.

I’d recommend all 3 products and hope this has helped you in some way.

How do you remove your make up? I’m always on the hunt for new products, let me know in the comments below.

Favourite concealers

Hello everyone! Hope all you lovely people are well!

I’m going to share my top concealers today in hope that it can help one of you. There are 3 concealers which are my staples for any make up look and which I use on a daily basis.

The first concealer is the Collection lasting perfection ultimate wear concealer. Now I’m sure you’ve heard about a million other people go on about their love for this product so I’ll try to keep it short. I find this perfect for brightening my under eyes but especially concealing blemishes. It’s full coverage and long wearing making it ideal for college or work.

My second concealer I’m going to talk about is the Rimmel Wake me up concealer. This is great for covering those under eye circles after a sleepless night. It’s brightening and is great at counteracting the blue under eye tones however it’s not as full coverage as the Collection concealer therefore I’d recommending only using it for brightening under eyes and not on blemishes.

The final concealer I’m going to talk about is the Mac Pro longwear concealer. It’s slightly more expensive than the other 2 mentioned being high end however I feel this brings some added benefits. Mac have an exceptionally large range of colours so you are sure to find a colour to suit your skin tone however the other 2 concealers only have a choice of 3 shades. This concealer is ideal for covering blemishes or under eye bags as it is full coverage. I find this to be a thinner consistency than the Collection concealer yet still high coverage. It is in a small bottle with a pump so more hygienic than a dofer applicator.

I recommend all 3 concealers highly and say they work well on there own or in conjunction with the others.

What are your favourite concealers? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

Current foundation

Hi everyone! Let’s dive right in, finding the right foundation can be an absolute NIGHTMARE! I’m going to share my current foundation and my thoughts on it – the foundation is Clinique Anti-blemish liquid makeup. I have been using this foundation for about a month. I had a bit of a shopping splurge in the makeup department at John Lewis – oops! I bought this along with the Clinique Anti-blemish 3 step. Using these together I’m seeing progress slowly to clearer skin. When I get blemishes now they seem to clear quicker and I think the makeup allows my skin to breathe yet remaining full coverage. Previously I’ve used Mac Studio Fix foundation, which is great for full coverage and concealing blemishes however I found that having combination skin it clung to my drier patches which is a bad look! The Clinique foundation doesn’t do this and I feel I can still get the same high coverage look. I think it’s very benefitial to have a foundation with acne fighting products in as that’s what I’ve got on my face for half the day. They have a lot of colours for every skin tone so I managed to find a colour that matched my skin (the lightest one!) I still find that I have to powder my T-zone throughout the day however I do have oily/combination skin. I find it has a good staying powder and lasts the duration of the day. It’s priced at £25 for 30ml (average foundation size) which I thinks a good price for a high end product and I would recommend it.

What’s your favourite foundation? I’d love to know what foundations other people love!

Montagne jeunesse face mask review

Hi everyone! I thought I’d review one of my favourite brands of face masks. They offer a wide variety of face masks suited for every skin type. They all smell amazing! They are easy to use in one use packets – however I find with the peel of masks that I never need the whole pack as otherwise it takes FOREVER to dry! My friend gave me the great tip of using half the packet then leaving the mask in an upright cool place to use again that week (obviously don’t leave it for too long though!). The particular one I’m going to be recommending today is the Dead Sea Mud Pac – I really like this particular one and I’m always picking it up again. It definitely does what it says ‘hard drying and cleanses pores’ leaving the skin feeling clean and fresh, without drying it out completely. Ideal for combination/oily skin however I’d recommend people with dry skin to look at other masks in the range. I also find theses masks good for sensitive skin – I have acne and these don’t inflame or cause irritation to my skin. All of the face masks are relatively cheap at around £1 and are readily available. I know boots has a 4 for £3 offer on at the moment, so I’d go pick them up while on offer!

Life with a sprinkle of glitter – book review

Hi everyone! This isn’t usually something I’d do as I very rarely read but as I’ve been away I’ve had time to read some books and Louise Pentlands book was one of them!

I have really enjoyed reading this book, it’s great to read sections when you need/are appropriate to you or you can read the whole book straight through (which I did). She covers a variety of topics making it suitable to a vast audience – however I could see the age range this book is targeted to is probably 10-18 however I think people of all ages could enjoy this book nevertheless. I think Louise has done a great job with this book and her personality is reflected throughout. There are some funny little stories that she includes which I don’t think she’s shared anywhere else; exclusives!

Overall I’d recommend this book as it was an enjoyable read and I really enjoyed it!

The perfect smokey eye pallete

Hi everyone! I thought I’d just share my all time favourite eyeshadow pallete with you. I absolutely adore the variety of colours, without them being too extreme. The pallete which has become my all time favourite is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I know it’s rather pricey for a pallete (£38) but I think it’s defiantly worth it considering they are highly pigments with a variety of shades both matte and shimmery. I don’t usually use particularly creative and colourful eyeshadows, I mainly just use a more neutral pallete so this is perfect for me. I use this pallete every single day therefore I can justify the purchase. I’ve included a couple of photos so you can get an idea of the colours.

However I understand many don’t want to spend lots of money on make up therefore I’ve also found a drugstore version which I’ve also tried and tested; the Sleek Storm eyeshadow pallete. The colours in this pallete are highly pigmented and it is a great dupe for the Naked 2 pallete. I hope some of you find this helpful!
